What is a DPA?
A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is a contract that sets out how personal data is handled when Redcliffe Consultancy processes data on behalf of a client—for example, when building AI workflows, automation systems, or handling customer lists for campaigns.
Role as Data Processor
In many AI and automation projects, the client remains the Data Controller (they decide what data is collected and why), and Redcliffe Consultancy acts as the Data Processor (we process data according to the client’s instructions).
Key Principles
- We only process data on documented instructions from the client.
- We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data.
- We assist clients in meeting GDPR obligations where relevant (e.g. data subject rights).
- We do not use client data for our own marketing or profiling.
- We ensure confidentiality for anyone with access to client data.
Third-Party Services
Where AI or automation solutions use third-party tools (such as cloud platforms, CRMs, or analytics services), we will identify these tools and, where necessary, ensure appropriate data processing terms are in place.
Retention & Deletion
Client data processed as part of a project is retained only for as long as necessary to deliver the agreed services. On completion or termination of a project, data may be returned to the client or securely deleted, in line with the DPA agreed for that engagement.
Project-Specific DPAs
For larger or more sensitive AI projects, a project-specific DPA can be agreed and signed, setting out responsibilities, security measures, and data flows in more detail.
